Groups Involved in Mission at DMUMC

Our church is more than just Sunday prayers. There’s a whole lot happening with our community throughout the week. We hold frequent gatherings and events, with special get togethers for families, kids and new members.

CARE Team

Meetings called as needed

The mission of the Duncan Memorial CARE Team is to nurture and support the congregation of the church.  Working through a series of group leaders, everyone in the congregation is connected together so that we know what is going on in the lives of our members, what they might need, and how the church might support both their physical as well as spiritual health.

RISE Kids and Youth Meetings

Sunday afternoons
Kids 4-5 pm
Both groups dinner 5-5:30 pm
Youth 5:30-6:30 pm

RISE Kids and Youth engage our younger members in Bible study and exploration under the direction of our youth leaders Stephanie and Frank Moore.  Scheduled twice during the months of the school year and monthly during the summer, RISE attendees are challenged to put their faith into action.  They participate in mission trips both locally and within the state.  Adult and older youth volunteers are a vital part of this ministry as they share their Christian experiences and skills.  Most importantly, their service to Christ is a source of mutual fellowship and fulfillment.

Several other churches participate in this ministry which weekly provides weekend meals to just under 100 students.  The program continues during the summer under the direction of FISH.
